What is Computer Science?
If you’ve used a computer, a GPS, or even a mobile app on your smart phone, you’ve experienced computer science. Computer Science is learning and understanding the math, science, and engineering principles underlying every kind of computer system. From the devices we use every day to the supercomputers that form modern science, it all starts with computer science.

If you love computers and gaming, and are always thinking of ways to make them better, then you’ll love the Computer Science Technology field.
What is experiential learning?
Simply put, experiential learning is learning through direct experience. We feel it’s the best way to learn, and we designed our Program around it. So when you attend classes at P.I.T., get ready for more than just textbooks. Our instructors use a variety of teaching tools such as:

Where can I go after P.I.T.?
P.I.T. launches you into a world of opportunity! You can transfer your associate degree credits to a four- year college or university to pursue your Bachelor of Science degree. You can start working in your field right after graduation. You can work in your field and pursue your degree part-time. PIT will prepare you for the next step that’s right for YOU.
Why choose P.I.T. for your Computer Science Technology degree?
  1. Certification Prep
Our Computer Science Technology program fully prepares students to achieve the certifications that are essential to the industry.

  2. Start work now
Most Computer Science Technology programs are four years. Our unique two-year program allows graduates to enter the work force faster.

  3. Intimate learning environment and family atmosphere
Our instructors know each student on a first name basis. Smaller class sizes allow us to focus on each student’s individual strengths and areas to improve.

  4. Parallel learning
P.I.T.’s unique “parallel learning” approach saves time and money for our students. We offer both skill strengthening and degree classes at the same time, fast-tracking students to a degree.

  5. Flexibility
Our flexible schedule is ideal for students balancing work, family, and school.

  6. No “weeding out” courses
It’s common to find “weeding out” courses in other computer science programs. These courses are harder than a first semester course should be. Some schools use these to “weed out” struggling students. At P.I.T. we take the opposite approach: we WANT you to succeed. We will go the extra mile to ensure your success!

  7. Free tutoring
Scheduled tutoring from both instructors and honor students is available to ALL P.I.T. students, free of charge!
