MBC209 - CPT4 Coding and Practicum
This hands–on course introduces students to the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT–4) coding system used to identify medical care and services provided by physicians, trauma centers, and other health care facilities. Students are introduced to compliance and reimbursement issues related to HCFA Healthcare Common Procedural Coding System (HCPCS), the commonly used physician–based coding system. Students spend a considerable amount of class time strengthening coding skills.
