Morning, evening and weekend classes are available. You will be provided with textbooks, scrub sets, and all the laboratory equipment that you need. You can even take and pass the certification test right at P.I.T.
What kind of career will I have?
Health care providers throughout the greater Philadelphia region are seeking qualified and certified professionals in specialty health care.

Certified Medical Billing and Coders are responsible for coding a patient’s diagnosis and treatment using specified codes and requesting payments from the patient’s insurance company or Medicare. These professionals ensure that everyone is billed correctly and the health care providers receive accurate payment for services. Once you complete this program, P.I.T. will prepare you to take the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) nationwide certification examination.

When you complete one or several of these certificates you are able to work in the offices of health care providers including physicians, dentists, physical therapists, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and clinics just to name a few. Typical job titles include:
  • Medical Billing and Coders
  • Medical Billing and Coding Specialists
Individuals with a degree in Electronic Health Records are found employed by physicians, dentists, physical therapists, chiropractors, psychologists and psychiatrists, clinics, hospitals, and insurance companies, just to name a few.
Where can I go after I graduate from P.I.T.?
P.I.T. prepares you for a world of opportunity in the health care field! You can transfer the credits you earn in the rapid learning program to P.I.T.’s certificates in Clinical Medical Assistant or Medical Billing and Coding. Then you can transfer those earned credits into P.I.T’s associate degree program. But most importantly, you can start work in your chosen field right after you earned your certification. P.I.T prepares you for the next step that meets your goals!
Why choose P.I.T. for one of the Rapid Learning Program Certifications?
  1. Experienced Instructors
The College’s Medical Billing and Coding instructors either come from a real world background or still hold electronic health records positions. They share their working knowledge to better prepare our students to enter the workplace.

  2. Intimate learning environment and family atmosphere
Our instructors know each student on a first name basis. Smaller class sizes allow us to focus on each student’s individual strengths and areas in need of improvement.

  3. Parallel Learning
P.I.T.’s unique “parallel learning” approach saves times and money for students. We offer skill strengthening and degree classes at the same time, fast-tracking students to a degree.

  4. Learn at your own pace! – E-Learning at P.I.T
A number of courses are blended learning enabling students to spend less time in class and more time learning. You meet once a week with the instructor and the rest of the time learning on computer software.

  5. Free Tutoring
Scheduled tutoring from both instructors and honor students is available to ALL P.I.T. students, free of charge!

  6. Portfolio Building and Interview Coaching
The value of a P.I.T. education extends beyond the classroom! Our instructors work hard to prepare graduates through portfolio building and interview coaching.
