Starting in May 2014, the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology will be launching three rapid learning programs designed to
lead young professionals towards national certification. These programs are designed specifically for health care providers
who seek career advancement and individuals who are eligible for training through Pennsylvania’s Career Link.
What programs are being offered?
- Medical Billing and Coding
- (EKG) Electrocardiogram
How long will it take to complete this program?
Each program will run for 15 weeks for 9 credits* and is comprised of 3 courses in total.
*Note: Suitable work place experience can count towards completed credit. If you feel that your experience qualifies then speak
to one of our admissions representatives.
What’s the cost?
The cost for the program is $4,600. This covers the program’s training, the cost of taking the nationwide certification exam,
and studying supplies (textbooks, scrub sets, lab coat, and personal lab equipment).
What do I gain from completing this program?
The program will award you with a certificate from the P.I.T. upon completion. In addition to that, the programs
will better prepare students to pass the nationwide certification examination in either
Phlebotomy (CPT), Medical Billing and Coding (CBCS), or Pharmacy Technician (CPT).
What can I do with the credits earned?
If you wish to continue your education with P.I.T. then the credits earned in these programs can transfer
into their equivalent School of Professional Programs.
Can I take these courses through the college’s ePIT Blended Learning program?
Many of the courses are offered via P.I.T.’s E-Learning program, enabling students to spend less time in the classroom
and more time learning skills in high demand in today’s health care field.
