Allied Health Technology (A.S.)

The program leading to an Associate in Science (A.S.) in Allied Health provides maximum opportunities for health care professionals in developmental disabilities, medical assisting, medical office technology, pharmacy technology, practical nursing and other health careers to continue their formal collegiate education. The Allied Health program provides students with additional knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will enhance their career mobility in the health care setting. Further, this program prepares students to pursue further education at the bachelor level.

Allied Health Technology graduates will be able to:
The A.S. in Allied Health is designed as a multidisciplinary degree program consisting of four majors or tracks:

• Medical Assistant with Externship*
• Medical Office Specialist with Externship*
• Pharmacy Technician*
• Practical Nursing*

*Graduates of these majors will be able to go into Allied Heath Technology as a degree completion at P.I.T.
