Thanksgiving is just around the corner, literally! It’s a day to be thankful for all we have been blessed with, but for the less fortunate it may be tough. So, I am happy to announce that the SVO (Student Veteran Organization) is holding a Thanksgiving Food Drive.
The food should be in sealed boxes and cans, and is to be dropped off in the donation cartons that are placed on the porch area of the school (at the front of the school, by the seating area.) The donations will be given to a Delaware County food bank that is located at a church in Prospect Park, PA.
The statistics are frightening – 15% or more households in Pennsylvania alone are struggling daily with a food hardship. At this time of year, as we think about the holidays and what they mean, it’s more important than ever to reach out and help our community, to lend a helping hand and donate foods for the less fortunate. It’s a cause that needs our help, and I hope you all are able to help out this holiday season.
