Computer and Communication Technology (AAS)

Computer and Communication Technology (CCT) is a rapidly changing discipline requiring professionals with a broad base of up-to-date skills. The CCT program is designed to teach students the fundamentals of networking and telecommunications technology. Through hands-on training, students learn the networking skills and concepts that affect all aspects of networking, such as installing and configuring the Internet Protocols client.

The program allows students to specialize in their fourth semester. This specialization helps prepare the students to take either the Cisco Certified Network Associate exam, or the CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certification exams. Both options require a core of 17 courses that are designed to give students a fundamental understanding of theoretical and applied electronics, telecommunications, and computer technologies.

Graduates are qualified for entry-level positions as telecommunications analysts, computer hardware technical specialists, or telecommunications support specialists or designers. Graduates may also transfer appropriate credits to a four-year degree program.
