CRJ101 - Introduction to Criminal Justice

In this course, students will receive an overview of the criminal justice system from arrest through to the parole process. The primary elements of police, courts, and corrections are examined along with how the secondary influences of politics, the media, and public opinion influence policy and practice. Ethical considerations are addressed, specifically focusing on juvenile justice, institutional racism, and historical interpretations of the Constitution.
