This course is designed to prepare students for the duties involved in performing Polysomnographic and Evoked Potentials and testing procedures. This course will introduce students to the basic clinical and technical components of visual, auditory and median and tibial nerve somatosensory evoked potentials. Additionally, students will learn about all night sleep (ANS) studies, multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT’s) and maintenance of wakefulness tests (MWLT’s). This course also provides basic introductory instruction about evoked potential responses to visual, auditory and sensory stimuli, EP and PSG electrode application/hook-up, and recording as well as normal sleep architecture.
